ZOLA HITS OUT AT SULLIVAN

Gianfranco Zola struggled to disguise his displeasure over David Sullivan's revelation that the entire West Ham staff would have to take a pay cut in the summer.

In an interview on Tuesday morning the Hammers co-owner hinted that the manager and players would have to take a 25% cut to slash the £60m wage bill at Upton Park.

But speaking ahead of the midweek date with Birmingham, the manager said: "I think the article should have been done at another time, not just before a match like tomorrow.

"It would have been better to say that at another time and maybe talk to us before talking to a paper. That is my feeling.

"I'm not thinking about relegation at all. I'm thinking about getting the points that we should have had on the table That is my only focus.

"Since I have been here it has been a repetition of speculation and problems. To be honest I'm fed up with it. I just want to focus on football."
