SMITH HAILS WING ACE RILEY

Five-try hero Chris Riley earned the plaudits from Tony Smith after inspiring Warrington to a 58-0 thrashing of Harlequins.

He said: "A few were served up on a silver platter but a winger has to be there and he showed good speed on a couple of occasions. It's quite a feat to score five tries in any match.

"The vision and execution of his try from Lee Briers' kick straight from a scrum was superb and obviously well rehearsed in training."

Smith also paid tribute to Adrian Morley after his skipper came straight from attending the birth of his second child to play despite a sleepless night.

He added: "Mozza only had an hour's sleep but there was no risk in playing him. I knew he'd be up for it and all three front rowers - Mozza, Paul Wood and Garreth Carvell - played well."

Quins coach Brian McDermott admitted: "Warrington were outstanding and white hot. We did not handle the occasion."
