BEKELE CLAIMS DOUBLE
BekeleEthiopia's Kenenisa Bekele completed a rare long-distance double in Beijing after winning gold in the 5,000m to go with the gold he won in the 10,000m earlier in the Games.

Bekele, accompanied by his brother Tariku and compatriot Abreham Cherkos most of the way, set a strong early pace.

That proved enough to break Kenya's Eliud Kipchoge, who was outpaced over the final 400m, with Edwin Cheruiyot Soi claiming the bronze.

Bekele said: "This is very special for myself and my country. It was a fantastic day for me. I was so happy to achieve this performance."
