GB HEROES ARRIVE HOME
Hoy and AdlingtonGreat Britain's Olympic team made a triumphant return to the country on Monday on a British Airways plane with a special gold nose.

The athletes finished fourth in the medal table with 19 gold medals, 13 silver and 15 bronze in Britain's most successful Olympics for 100 years.

Gold medallists including Chris Hoy and Rebecca Adlington touched down just after 3pm and were met on the ground by Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Minister for the Olympics Tessa Jowell.

A victory parade will be held for the British athletes in London in October.

Lord Coe, chairman of the 2012 Organising Committee, said: "Team GB have just provided us with the most extraordinary platform. They performed way beyond what was expected."

Diver Tom Daley added: "It's just been great. I'm going to have a few days off. Then I will be back to hard training."
