BOSS COLLINS LEFT FRUSTRATED
UK Athletics performance director Dave Collins admits he has been "frustrated" by the performance of his team at the Olympic Games in Beijing.

With just one gold, Christine Ohuruogu's 400 metres title, two silvers and a bronze, Collins has fallen short of his target of five medals.

"It has been a very frustrating games for us - we almost hit the target but you don't get medals for close," said Collins.

"The target was five - we've done well elsewhere. We've had a lot of people in finals and really promising performances from some of the young guys. It's almost there but not quite.

"It's going to take time, we know we've got work to do and you can see it is there but it wasn't there at this Games.

"The team has worked well. There is some real promise for 2012 but a frustration at this Games we could just have put the icing on the cake and taken more medals."
